| The following
is a list of equipment which is carried on a standard fire appliance
in Ireland. In general the equipment is the same but obviously some
equipment and the layout will vary from stations to station and brigade
to brigade. Dublin Fire Brigade has a standard equipment layout where
each locker on each fire engine in any station will contain almost
identical equipment which is useful for easy location in multi pump
incidents and also easy to remember for personel when on transfer
to a different station. |

4 Lengths of 2.44metre hard suction,

1 wrecking steel bar about 1700mm long,
1 ceiling hook,
2 flaked lengths of 45 mm hose with a spray branch.

2 key and bars for opening hydrants and turning on water,

Various size false spindles for hydrant valves,
1 foam making branch (450 Litres Minute),
1 foam solution inductor to pick up foam from a container,

1 9 Litre drypower fire extinguishers,
2 Carbon dioxide fire extinguishers,
1 portable water pump to obtain water from rivers etc that the main
fire engine cannot get down to,
1 dividing breeching for splitting one line of large hose into two,
1 collector head for the portable pump to connect main hose supplying
water to it,
10 Litre drum of petrol for the portable pump,
Earthing cable and insulating poles for the Luas light rail system
(only in Dublin)

Selection of ropes including a lowering line with two loops at one
end.
1x 50 metre dropline which crews carry into a high building and drop
out the window to hoist up hose etc.

Box containing hand axes, landing wheel valves (water supply in high
rise) ship to shore hose connection, lift keys, gas keys, various

the Luas light rail overhead cables in Dublin,

2 gorse beaters (long poles with flexible rubber mat on one end)
10 lengths of 70mm dia. 25 metre large hose,
3 water branches all with spray diffuser pattern and 0.3mm droplet
making capability.
